At Influx Digital, we never assume that everything is obvious to our customers and prospects. In every line of work, you become comfortable with ways of working, jargon, and business ‘norms’, but not everyone will be up to speed, and that’s okay.
We get a lot of questions from business prospects, which is to be expected, and it’s great because it gives us a chance to update our FAQ list.
It can be everything from website design questions about creativity, to synchronicity, and sometimes even just simple ‘how does this work?’ questions.
In this blog we’ve compiled some things we’ve been asked recently – hopefully they’ll be useful.
Will my new website work across all my devices?
One of the most frequent questions we get asked is if the websites we design are consistent across mobile and tablet. The simple answer is yes.
As technology improves and adapts to the way we work, it will be no surprise that people will find new ways to connect and browse. We’re always making sure to keep up with the status quo.
All our websites are built responsively and content is optimised for whichever device or browser you log in from. This is necessary to create a more consistent, seamless experience and make sure customers can find everything they need with ease.
Will my website be GDPR compliant?
At the start of 2020, GDPR changed and became far more strict to protect people’s security and privacy, and there are rules that website designers need to follow.
To make this easier for all our clients, GDPR compliance comes as standard. All the necessary notices, opt-in and privacy policies will be provided, to make sure everything is ship shape and shiny.
For a more detailed explanation of the legislation and how that ties in with our work, read our blog on the legal requirement for a website (In the UK).
Do you use website templates?
First and foremost, we don’t (and won’t ever) use website templates. Everything we design and build is bespoke, and created with the specific needs of the client in mind. This gives us the freedom to create, update, modify and make improvements as and when you need to.
This means we are able to provide a bespoke website for a client that is tailored both creatively and technically to their every need. You won’t find that kind of personalisation in a website template.
As a general rule, website templates are less flexible and their rigid structure makes customising much harder. If something goes awry, it’s much harder to locate the problem. When our team codes a website from scratch, they know where everything goes and where everything should be.
